The Pink Pig Part Two!

Just in case you can’t get enough of the Pink Pig – I’m happy to announce that we’ve opened our very own Etsy boutique! It’s called Comfort Cottage, and it’s a home for some of the most lovely cushions and small decorative items that I find in my travels. I’m especially excited about our pillows, made from antique fabrics for a look that literally NO ONE else will have.

Under-the-sea tee

This ain’t your mother’s animal tee! Philadelphia-based T-shirt artist Noelle (owner of Xenotees) steers clear of “cuddly & fuzzy” territory with this amazingly quirky new design. Each features a lobster with a crustacean-oriented quote from a French poet. Don’t speak français (or just can’t read the text in the photo)? Here’s the translation:

"I have a liking for lobsters. They are peaceful, serious creatures. They know the secrets of the sea, and they don't bark."

Noelle uses only totally unique designs on her tees (no clip-art graphics here!), expertly screenprinting them in her Philly studio. We love them because they’re conversation-starters: the perfect thing to slip on when you’re tired of all the boring solid-colored tops in your closet.

Selling like hotcakes: bath & body treats from Farmhouse Fresh

We’re having a hard time keeping these yummy goodies on the shelves – and for good reason! The Farmhouse Fresh line takes wholesome, country-grown ingredients and brings out their delectable smells and flavours in good-enough-to-eat scrubs and lotions. Here's the lowdown.

The Sweet Cream Body Scrub lasts forever (even for the most enthusiastic bathers!) and feels incredible on your skin. Mixed media mermaids by Laurie Beth Giacumbo

Who wouldn't want one of these sparkly, sassy mermaids hanging on their wall? Upbeat and whimsical, each features a saucily boozy element, whether it's a glistening martini in "Dinner is Poured" or a festive bottle of chardonnay in "Wedding Day".

The mermaids are the brainchild of artist Laurie Beth Giacumbo (just "Beth" to her friends). Born and raised at the Jersey Shore, Laurie was taking art lessons at an early age. A course in Collage for Fashion Merchandising led to a career as a bartender (go figure), but her love for art endured even while she was busy slinging drinks. After moving in to a townhouse on the beach with her wonderfully encouraging husband, she started painting everything - floors, walls, and furniture - and mermaids turned out to be a recurring theme. As Laurie puts it, "They're happy, silly, and lots of fun."

Laurie's sea sirens are crafted from paper, paint, pastels, die cuts, and glitter (ALWAYS lots of glitter). As Beth says: "they're made with love and laughter, and frequently a glass of merlot!"

Birds Of A Feather Flock Together

Nature inspired decor is always in style at the Pink Pig. Our collection at the shop features some old and some new items which have arrived just in time for summer.

Our vintage grain sack pillow called Snow Bird is by Barbara Smith of Buttons Buttons. Original grain sackpillow features a pretty bird in center and this beautiful pillow is finished with a vintage ticking fabric in blue and white stripe.

Collectible plates are always a perfect way to decorate our walls and I love this Westmoreland hand-painted plate with beaded
milk glass trim.
