Vintage Style Milagros

I found these Vintage Style Milagros and fell in love. The word "Milagro" means "miracle. Small religious metal charms often found in areas of Latin America and also used in Europe where they were often referred to as Exvotos (Offerings).

In Mexico the Milagros are connected with an institution known as the "manda". This is where a person will ask a favor of a saint, and then, in order to repay the saint after the favor has been granted, one must make a pilgrimage to the shrine of that saint, and take a Milagros and leave it there. Milagros are typically pinned to some object of devotion in the shrine and often a small prayer of thanks is added.

Whimsical Door Plaques

The Pink Pig just received some of the cutest door plaques. You can find a chic Paris door plaque that tells your guests you will be "Back Soon" or a charming Golden Lab says "Welcome Home". A great gift for that dog lover in your life. Several to choose from. I know they won't stay in stock long.

Pink Hand-Carved Santas

Each year I have the opportunity to showcase these Hand-Carved Santas by Ben Raino.

I met Ben at a local Craft Fair here in the North Country 3 years ago. He is a retired gentleman who finds much joy creating these hand-carved Santas. My initial response when I found these charming Santas was....Oh my can you make them in PINK....and so our relationship began.

Each year I visit the local craft fair only to find Ben Raino with a sack full of Santas just for the Pink Pig. I hope you enjoy these as much as I and appreciate the craftsmanship of these Hand-Carved Santas made here in the Adirondack's. You can find them at the Pink Pig.
